Rom Coms that Even Men Can Go For

We understand that you would rather prefer watching a Marvel movie for the nth time rather than opting for a romantic comedy while lying in the blanket with your partner. Men are different and have different choices when it comes to movies.

However, there are certain rom coms that will make you fall for them and you will probably ask your partner to play it once more. Instead of cuddling with them while watching the movie, your attention will be at what comes next in the movie.

While you might be rolling your eyes at this point, why don’t you have a look at what we have listed for you. You might end up watching all of them, that too, with your guy friends instead of your partner! Have a read:

Jerry Maguire

Starring actor Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger, ‘Jerry Maguire’ is a movie about a pro sports agent Jerry Maguire, played by Tom Cruise, who has plenty of clients, although he doesn’t care about any of them. He has a beautiful fiance and everything that a man could dream of. However, after getting a panic attack one night in his hotel room, he questions his purpose in life as well as his ethics.

He lets go of his dishonest ways and decides to start his career with a new lease on his life. However, his superiors aren’t happy with his views and he is left with only one client till the end.

The movie elaborates the hardships that an honest man has to face in life, once letting go of the crooked ways that he usually uses. Zellweger levitates the movie with her acting as Dorothy Boyd by being by our hero’s side and believing in him when no one else did.

Knocked Up

There are plenty of movies about one night stands, however, ‘Knocked Up’ is slightly different. Starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl, the movie starts with Heigl as Alison Scott, being promoted at E! Television. Elated with her promotion, she goes to a night club with her sister Debbie. While the night is still young, she meets Ben Stone, played by Seth Rogen, and both of them get sloshed, ending up having an awkward one night stand.

Eight weeks later, Alison gets to know that she is pregnant and informs Ben. Instead of getting an abortion, they both decide to get together and have the baby.

If you are into stoner comedy this movie is a hilarious take on it. Apart from that, it is an entertaining and refreshing movie about child-rearing and child birth with a savvy script.

Crazy Stupid Love

‘Crazy Stupid Love’ will take you through a ride of laughter with its on point comedy. Starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Julianne Moore, the movie is about a middle aged husband Cal played by Steve Carell, who is asked for divorce by his wife, Emily, played by Julianne Moore. Feeling less of a man, his life changes dramatically when he meets Jacob, played by Ryan Gosling.

‘Crazy Stupid Love’ will move you with the reality and sensibility of the movie. It subtly shares how you are supposed to grow up when in a relationship and certainly has one of the best climaxes in the history of romantic comedies.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Which man doesn’t go through the pain of a break up? And if you are going through a break up, ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ is the movie for you. Starring Jason Segel, Mila Kunis, Kristin Bell and Russell Brand, the movie starts with a heartbroken ex-boyfriend Peter, played by Jason Segel, who is taking a vacation in Hawaii to feel better. However, his ex-girlfriend Sarah Marshall is also there with her new boyfriend, played by Russell Brand and are staying at the same resort where he is putting up.

The movie is a hilarious take on how a woman is trying to make her ex feel jealous while he is exploring new boundaries of love with Rachel, played by Mila Kunis.

Meet The Parents

If you dread meeting your girlfriend’s parents, this is the right movie for you to watch, but perhaps, not with your partner. Starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, this is a classic romantic comedy where a boyfriend, Greg Focker, played by Ben Stiller, is utterly failing to impress his girlfriend’s parents when he actually wants to propose to her for marriage.

Meanwhile, her sister declares that she is getting married to her boyfriend, who is a doctor, which doesn’t really help him out as he is a male nurse. ‘Meet the Parents’ is a take on how protective a father can be for his daughter, especially when he is a CIA agent!

Trainwreck

Ever met a woman who is commitment phobic and prefers getting wasted and stoned. Perhaps, not in this lifetime. However, ‘Trainwreck’ is a movie about Amy, played by Amy Schumer, who doesn’t believe in monogamy, even though she is dating Aaron, played by Bill Hader. She believe that the relationship has ended once the sex is over.

However, the movie shows how this woman faces her fears and ends up with a good guy in the end.

The Holiday

Most women go through guy problems; it can be exhausting for them as well. And that’s what ‘The Holiday’ is about. Starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, the movie exhibits the two women going through guy problems and to get a break from it, they swap homes from their respective countries to take a vacation. The adorable romantic comedy portrays how you can find love even during a holiday and when you least expect it.

There’s Something About Mary

High school dates can sometimes be a disaster, especially when they are with your crush. However, not every man gets to meet his high school crush again in his life, does he? Starring Cameron Diaz, Ben Stiller and Matt Dillon, the movie showcases a geek, Ted, played by Ben Stiller, who was unable to take one of the most popular girls, Mary, played by Cameron Diaz, to the high school prom.

However, after 13 years, he realises that he is still in love with Mary and decides to find her by hiring a private investigator, played by Matt Dillon. The shift in the movie comes when even the private investigator falls in love with Mary and decides that he will keep the information from Ted. The movie has the right comic timings and is a hilarious one to watch.

Love Wedding Repeat

Which brother doesn’t want his sister’s wedding to go smoothly? But it can get hectic for him when an uninvited guest comes over. Starring Sam Claflin, Frieda Pinto and Olivia Munn, ‘Love Wedding Repeat’ is based on the French motion picture ‘Plan de Table’.

Sam Claflin who plays the role of Jack in this innovative romantic comedy, is hoping that his younger sister has a perfect wedding. However, he is going through alternative versions of the wedding where he is juggling an uninvited guest with a secret and misplaced sleep sedative as well as an angry ex-girlfriend. However, he just might have a happy ending of his own with the girl of his dreams, played by Olivia Munn.

The movie portrays a number of possibilities of the wedding that will make you laugh until your tears come out!
